Mojito

Summer is almost here and you need to be prepared for all the parties with friends! And today’s recipe is perfect for an after dinner soirée 🙂 . The mojito is a traditional cuban cocktail, with white rum flavored with lime juice and mint leaves. The mojito is an after-dinner, because of its alcoholic content you should taste it only after a rich meal, and you need to serve it in a high tumbler.

There are different opinions about the origin of this drink, some historians think that the cocktail was created in XVI century by the pirates sailing the Caribbean seas, others think that the mojito was invented only in XIX during the Prohibition.

mojito
The etymology of its name is the most curious fact: Mojito seem to originate from mojo, the voodoo word for spell; so our beloved Mojito is a small spell 🙂 .
