Few weeks left until Christmas and… You know what time has come? No… We’re not talking about gifts, for that there is still a lot of time (like Christmas Eve :P), but about Christmas dinner !
Dive right then immediately into the warm and cozy Christmas atmosphere with a nice appetizer: apple and ham roses flavored with grains of java pepper and local honey .
Roses are very scenic and will not fail to impress your guests for Christmas. In addition, they are easier to prepare than it seems, although we have to admit the written explanation of the steps is a bit tricky. But do not worry we took photos at the main steps to help you .
The touch of honey and apples breaks the salty taste of the raw ham, making much more harmonious the whole appetizer . Java pepper is little more aromatic than classic pepper, but, if you can’t find it, you can easily replace it with black pepper. This spice was already used during the Middle Ages, and used to season the meat and as refined dessert was served whole and candied (we have not tasted it candied, but we will keep you informed as soon as we’ll try ).
